El encuentro de dos mundos es una fiesta que se celebra el 12 de octubre en Chile para conmemorar la llegada de Cristóbal Colón a América en 1492. Antes se llamaba el Día de la Raza, pero en el año 2000 se cambió el nombre para reflejar el lema del Quinto Centenario del Descubrimiento de América. Es un día feriado que se traslada al lunes más cercano si cae entre martes y viernes
